Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced that the Margalla Expressway will be connected to the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway. This project is expected to significantly reduce travel time between the motorway exit and the President’s House, with the journey taking just 15 to 18 minutes upon completion.

In addition to the Margalla Expressway-Motorway link, other traffic flow improvement measures are also underway. Work on underpasses at F-8, F-9, and Serena Chowk will commence soon to ease traffic congestion. The completion of the Islamabad Motorway is anticipated for August or September of this year.

Addressing an open house organized by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Margalla Hills rehabilitation, Minister Naqvi emphasized the progress being made on the project. He stated, “The Margalla Hills restoration project has been initiated, and its tangible impact is evident on the ground, not just on paper. In the coming days, everyone will witness a transformed Islamabad.”

CDA Chairman urged the public to participate in the Margalla Hills plantation drive by planting trees in the name of their parents and children from July 22nd onwards and taking care of them.

CDA Initiatives for Public Convenience:

Prior to the Margalla Hills event, Minister Naqvi inaugurated several modern systems at CDA to enhance public convenience. These initiatives aim to promptly address public complaints, effectively monitor vehicles, and improve institutional performance.

  • A state-of-the-art grievance redressal system has been introduced to promptly resolve citizen complaints. Citizens can register their complaints online, which will be promptly reviewed and addressed by the relevant CDA departments.

  • A modern tracking system has been installed to effectively monitor CDA vehicles, ensuring transparency and accountability.

  • A modern HR management system has been implemented to eliminate ghost employees and streamline administrative processes.

These initiatives reflect the CDA’s commitment to improving the lives of Islamabad’s residents and creating a more efficient and transparent organization.
