The RDA’s operation against Blue World City was met with strong resistance from the housing society’s management. The chairman of Blue World City, Mr. Saad Nazir, accused the RDA of being corrupt and of being influenced by politicians. He also claimed that the RDA was targeting Blue World City because it was one of the most popular housing schemes in the region.
The RDA’s operation against Blue World City is still ongoing. However, the housing society has obtained a stay order from the high court, which means that the RDA cannot take any further action against Blue World City until the stay order is lifted.
Blue World City NOC Status
The Blue World City project had its initial launch back in 2018, securing a NOC for 1534 Kanals from the District Council. Subsequently, the management embarked on a land acquisition spree, increasing their total landholding to an impressive 125,000 Kanals. Following this land acquisition, the society promptly applied for a new NOC to develop the additional land. Currently, the development is in full swing on 30,000 Kanals, showcasing the society’s ongoing progress to anyone interested.
Projects that have secured NOCs enjoy greater potential for attracting investment from discerning investors. Societies with legal status, approved NOCs for development, and well-documented records for their clients tend to be the preferred choice among the public, offering a sense of investment security. Blue World City Islamabad’s administration has diligently submitted all necessary documentation, and there is optimism that the society will soon receive approval from the District Council.
Planning Permission by RDA
Blue World City has obtained planning permission from the RDA for a 400-kanal plot in 2017. The housing society also has planning permission for a 1534-kanal plot from the RDA, which was issued in 2019.
However, the RDA has claimed that the planning permission for the 1534-kanal plot is invalid. The RDA has argued that the planning permission was issued without the necessary approvals from the federal government.
Application to PHATA
Blue World City applied to PHATA for planning permission in 2021. The housing society submitted all the necessary documentation to PHATA, including a feasibility study, a master plan, and an environmental impact assessment report.
PHATA approved Blue World City’s application for planning permission in 2022. The planning permission allows Blue World City to develop a housing scheme on a 17000-kanal plot.
Blue World City has strongly condemned the RDA’s operation against the housing society. The chairman of Blue World City, Mr. Saad Nazir, has accused the RDA of being corrupt and of being influenced by politicians. He has also claimed that the RDA is targeting Blue World City because it is one of the most popular housing schemes in the region.
Blue World City has also obtained a stay order from the high court, which means that the RDA cannot take any further action against Blue World City until the stay order is lifted.
